How do I sign up, and how much does it cost?
All new members are required to take a 2-hour Orientation session (offered every week) to familiarize themselves with our space, tools, services, and safety rules. After that, you can register for classes using the class calendar.
We offer three different types of classes. Safety and Basic Use (SBU) classes will teach you how to use a machine without hurting yourself, anyone else, or the machine. Level 2 classes will go beyond the basics to teach more advanced topics, and are required for some processes (like CNC milling). Premium classes are occasionally offered by visiting experts, may run from one day to ten weeks, and cover a variety of topics from "Design for Manufacture" to "How to File a Patent," from "Human Centered Design" to "Marketing and Distribution."
All members have to take our classes before they can use the equipment (that is, you must take the 3D printing SBU before you are allowed to use the 3D printers).
Classes are open to non-members, too! Members get a substantial discount on the class fees, and only members are allowed to use the equipment after they've taken the class, but everyone is welcome to sign up for our SBUs, Level 2, and Premium classes!
