What is an exposathon?

exposathons provide a venue for self-expression and creativity through technology. People with technical backgrounds come together, form teams around a problem or idea, and collaboratively code a unique solution from scratch — these generally take shape in the form of websites, mobile apps, and robots.

Our objective

To mobilize university students through tech themed competitions to solve local problems in various fields in bid to get them to sign up for hands on training that will be held at Gearbox.


A social problem will be presented in different fields: security, health, education etc .Then participants in groups, based on individual interests and skills, will conceptualize solutions to tackle the problem identified.


The best top students will be given a full sponsored training, while the top groups get subsidized curriculum fee.


We provide training that allows mastery in industry leading tools for design including Autodesk software as well as traditional machinery, including automated (CNC) machining, 3D printing, and wood and metal working. 

Training covers all angles and category of skills needs:

  1. Provides a platform for innovators graduating from technical institutions with hands on training to allow them be market ready and apply already acquired knowledge.
  2. Provides non academic technicians, craftsmen and tinkerers to utilize tools that aid their innovation/products improve in quality and save on time and resources.
